Petition text

This is Alastair Graham. On 25th of April, this low-life, with no abode and no job kidnapped a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, tied it to a tree in the woods of Kirkcaldy, Scotland and set it on fire.

The 23-year-old is now facing a multitude of charges – one is under the Animal Health and Welfare Act, in connection to the death of the dog. He is also accused of possessing a knife, behaving in an inappropriate way towards police officers and other such actions.

It appears he had an accomplice, 23-year-old Steven Gourdie, with no fixed abode as well. Gourdie was not charged in connection to the dog, however.

They appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff’s Court, but no plea or declaration was made. They are still in custody, and are expected to return to court next week.

Given the vicious nature of his actions, we demand that Alastair Graham receives the maximum penalty available under current Scottish laws. There is not the slightest doubt this man should go behind bars! He needs to have time to think about what he did!  Justice needs to be made to the poor dog!
